Urban Wellness Advocate Training Materials
“Real Hood Health” Curriculum
Building the Next Generation of Community Health Leaders
The Urban Wellness Advocate Program is more than a certification — it’s a movement. Designed for Oakland youth, our 6-week intensive training equips participants with the skills, confidence, and real-world experience to become trusted health advocates in their own neighborhoods.
This page provides access to the training workbooks and curriculum materials that guide every advocate through the program. These resources are grounded in lived experience, community wisdom, and evidence-based health practices.
What Are These Workbooks?
These are not traditional textbooks. They are action-based learning tools written in real language, for real people, addressing real challenges in our communities.
Each workbook walks participants through essential hands-on modules, combining health education, leadership development, and practical community work.
