Community Outreach Initiative

What It Is

Our Community Outreach Initiative delivers free chiropractic care directly to the people who need it most. Every month, our team travels to encampments, food kitchens, homeless shelters, and community health centers throughout Oakland. By bringing care to the community, we remove barriers that prevent many individuals from receiving essential healthcare.

This initiative is about more than just treatment — it’s about building relationships, trust, and presence. By showing up consistently in the same locations, we establish reliability and become a recognizable resource in communities that are often overlooked.

Why It Matters

For people experiencing homelessness or living in unstable housing, accessing traditional clinic care is extremely difficult. Transportation challenges, complicated appointment scheduling, economic constraints, and lack of identification all make visiting a clinic nearly impossible.

We remove these barriers by bringing care to them. Our regular monthly visits ensure that individuals know they can rely on our presence and access the support they need. Beyond physical relief, these interactions help to foster trust, dignity, and a sense of community. Chiropractic care can improve mobility, reduce pain, and empower individuals to maintain better health, which is especially important for those facing ongoing life challenges.

Who We Serve

Our outreach program is designed for anyone facing barriers to accessing traditional healthcare. This includes:

  • Unhoused community members living in encampments or temporary housing

  • People accessing food kitchens and shelters who may not have transportation

  • Patients at community health centers who face logistical or economic challenges

  • Anyone who experiences barriers such as lack of insurance, ID, or financial resources

By targeting these populations, we ensure that chiropractic care reaches those who often go underserved.

Our Partners

Collaboration with local organizations is key to the success of our initiative. Our current partners include:

  • Freedom Community Clinic – supporting access to healthcare resources and care coordination

  • Other Community Health Centers – extending our reach to those already seeking health services

  • Shelters and Food Kitchens – providing convenient and accessible locations for care delivery

  • Palmer College of Chiropractic West – student interns who assist in providing care while gaining hands-on experience in community health

These partnerships allow us to integrate our services into trusted spaces where the community already gathers, making care more accessible and reliable.

Services Provided

During each outreach visit, our team delivers a comprehensive range of chiropractic services designed to meet the needs of underserved populations:

  • Full spine assessments to identify areas requiring care

  • Chiropractic adjustments tailored to individual needs

  • Pain management guidance to support ongoing wellness

  • Referrals to other services when additional care or resources are needed

  • Follow-up care at our clinic for patients who wish to continue treatment

Each service is provided with compassion and professionalism, ensuring patients feel safe, supported, and understood.
